If you encounter issues with the Canvas app crashing when opening, please use the following steps to resolve the issue.
- Ensure that the Android OS is connected to the internet either via Ethernet or WiFi. You can check your network connection settings in your Android Settings app. Canvas requires an internet connection to auto-activate on Clear Touch displays. Once activated, the app no longer requires a network connection.
- Open the Canvas app, select the "menu" button at the bottom of the page, then select the "gear" icon at the top of the menu. Select the "Check for updates" option to ensure that Canvas is up to date.
If the previous step fails, or Canvas continues crashing after activation, use the following steps to correct the issue:
- From your Android Home page, select the "waffle" icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Select "Settings", then scroll down and select "Apps". Select "Canvas", and click the "Storage" button. Select both the "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data" buttons to reset the app. Close the Settings menu, and launch Canvas (please note that the app may require a network connection to re-activate after resetting the cache and data.)
