Windows 11 Power Settings

Windows 11 Power Settings

This article outlines the recommended power settings for Clear Touch Interactive Integrated PC Modules on Windows 11.  These settings will prevent unwanted shutdowns due to the display's built-in power-saving functions and allow the display to correctly power down (either through scheduled shutdowns or by holding down the panel's power button for several seconds).

Some PC models, such as the OPS-PC15-SM, OPS-PC25-SM, and OPS-PC27-VP, need to have two BIOS settings changed. First, boot to the BIOS when the PC powers on by repeatedly pressing F2 on the panel remote or a connected keyboard. Then, navigate to the Advanced tab > Power Management Configuration > Enable Hibernation and change the ACPI Sleep State to S3 (Suspend to RAM). Finally, press F10 to save and exit the BIOS.

  • Once Windows has loaded, click the Windows Start button at the bottom of your desktop and open Settings > System > Power.

  • Click the “Screen, sleep & hibernate” dropdown and change all three settings to Never.

  • Click the Power & sleep button controls dropdown, and change “Pressing the power button will make my PC” to Shutdown, then change “Pressing the sleep button will make my PC” to Sleep.

Lastly, click the Windows Search bar on the Taskbar next to the Start button.

  • Type "Control" and open the Control Panel app

  • View by: Small icons and select Power Options

  • On the left side of the window, select Choose what the power buttons do

  • Change “When I press the power button” to Shut Down

  • Change “When I press the sleep button” to Turn off the display

  • Ensure that all four boxes at the bottom of the window are unchecked. If some boxes are checked but are grayed out, select “Change settings that are currently unavailable” (requires administrator privileges) and then uncheck the boxes.
